Alissa Q. Hall Honorary Education and Public Awareness Fund
This honorary fund was created to honor Alissa Q. Hall.
In, 2018, Alissa suffered from several venous blood clots in her brain known as a cerebral venous sinus thromboembolism or CVST. It was discovered that Alissa carries the Factor V Leiden genetic disorder which contributed to the blood clots.
Today Alissa suffers from constant headaches, vision problems, depression, and other physical and mental ailments as a result of the cerebral venous blood clots. She takes blood thinners daily with the hope that no more clots will develop. Her healthcare providers tell her that nothing more can be done to lessen the impact from the clots and that she will need to take the medication for the rest of her life.
Bravely and honorably, Alissa has not declared defeat, but instead has made it her calling to educate the world about Factor V Leiden. She is a tremendously strong advocate for those affected by it. Sympathetically and with extreme passion, Alissa is a voice that demands to be heard when speaking on behalf of her many friends and acquaintances throughout the country who are also going through the hardships caused by blood clots and Factor V Leiden. Alissa also currently serves as the Vice President of the AFVLA and is a crucial part of the leadership team.
